I am SO excited to tell y’all about the newest review series I am planning for She Tried What! I’m calling it…drumroll please…. Adulting 101!
What’s Adulting 101?
I’m glad you asked! I came up with the idea because this past year has been full of huge changes for my husband (still getting used to calling him that) and me. In one year, we moved across the country, got married, bought a house, and changed jobs. With all of these major events that are naturally a part of growing up, there were countless times I would feel so lost thinking “Where was I supposed to have learned this?”
The truth is, no where. They don’t offer college classes that teach any of these very practical life skills like buying a home or picking the right credit card. While my parents and friends were always super helpful and there is so much information available online, it can be extremely time consuming sorting through it all.
I am someone who really wants to be informed before making a decision, so I would get frustrated when I didn’t have the time to do any research. I was dying for a resource where someone I related (who had already gone through these things) could share their experience – what worked, what didn’t, what tools they used, etc. In talking to others, I was not alone. So, I decided to create a series that is just that!
I do not claim to be an expert in any of the topics I will cover. I am just someone just like you who scoured the internet and asked questions to try to figure things out. Don’t think of me like a teacher; instead, I am more like your best friend who shares their notes with you when you miss class.
Each post will answer a different question that you have likely already asked yourself or will soon like:
- What credit card should I choose?
- How do I begin investing?
- How do I decide what washer & dryer to buy?
I will share my notes, free printables, and resources on each topic from my successes and failures. No more feeling hopeless and confused. College may not have offered Adulting 101, but She Tried What does!
I really want this to be helpful, practical information that you can easily take away and put into action. I have many ideas for topics to cover, but I want to hear from y’all on what questions you’d like answered, so please comment below or send me an email using the contact link in the menu.
